In the post-war years, a soldier named Sergei returns home from France. With him comes Giselle, his French lover. It is not easy for the girl to get used to the village life in the country of the Soviets, but she tries her best for the sake of her feelings for the Russian guy. However, he is a very popular man. He has long been "pined" by fellow villager Klavdia, who tries to destroy the international marriage by any means. To do this, she even falls in love with Sergei his own sister Olga. No-nonsense passions are boiling in the village. What choice will Sergei make?
