All his life, Paul (Paul Gosselin) wanted to be an actor on the daytime drama, Guiding Light, but after CBS canceled the series following a 72-year run, Paul thought it was high time to pack up his life in New York City and move to Los Angeles. While in the City of Angels, home to the now four remaining US soap operas, Paul seeks out wisdom and inspiration in navigating this disappearing industry from the one person he believes has all of the answers, Susan Lucci, aka "Big Sue."

Paul moves in with his best friend, Stephanie (Stephanie Gatschet), a former soap opera ingenue, hoping to break into the industry. He navigates the unpredictable world of showbiz through connections like Breeze (Ivet Corvea), a former lover turned casting director, and Gracie (Katy Jacoby), a writer for The Bold & The Beautiful. Paul's efforts include inviting Gracie to a storytelling show and attempting to charm Trevor (Chuck Saculla), a TV producer with a secret. Just as Paul's dreams start to feel out of reach, a reunion with two friends from his past in New York City (Melissa Claire Egan & Chrishell Stause) leaves him questioning everything. When all seems lost, a mysterious woman named Susan Coochie appears, reigniting Paul's passion and giving him new hope.
