Against the background of the 1998 default, Artyom Kalinin, a yesterday's schoolboy, arrives in Moscow, confident that his mathematical talent and knowledge of trading theory will become a passport to the top of the financial world. He dreams of becoming the Russian "wolf of Wall Street" and subjugating the stock market. Artyom plunges into the reality of big money, where his life turns into an endless series of deals, parties and scams. He is carried away by excitement, and the desire for power and success supersedes moral principles.
