In the village of Vrakola, nestled in the Tran region, mysterious and unexplainable events unfold. As the darkness deepens, Emil’s son, Delyan Slavov, mysteriously vanishes. Joining the fight against the evil are Dana, a vrazhalitsa with mystical knowledge, and Lazar Karaivanov, a platenik – a resurrected soul with unfinished business in the mortal world. The series “Mamnik” tells the story of the struggle between humans and an ancient evil brought to life from legends, combining a crime storyline with elements of fantasy and Bulgarian folklore. The action takes place in the border village of Vrakola, which has been isolated due to the rising number of coronavirus cases. Mysterious murders begin to occur in the village, and locals wake up with unusual marks on their bodies. Three people confront the mystery and come face to face with buried secrets, forgotten legends, and the creature from Bulgarian folklore known as the Mamnik—a winged demonic bird believed to bring death and a curse.
