After a party at their friends' house, Louise and Mathias decide to throw a spontaneous birthday party for Svend. Can they live up to their own and Svend's expectations?

Louise's grandmother is dying, and the whole family is gathered to say goodbye. While Mathias tries to teach Svend about death, the others discuss heirlooms.

Will Svend be ready to start school? After a meeting at kindergarten, Louise goes in search of the family's good genes, and Mathias takes the plunge and pursues his dream.
