The Variants, who are persecuted by the public, live isolated in a village and are constantly monitored by an organization called VCU (Variant Crime Unit). Kanichiro plays the role of Umin, a Variant who is also a spy for the VCU. Miura plays the role of Ema, an influencer member of the unit “L.”
