The film is about the horrors of war. It tells the fate of the tailor John Bottom who during the war against the Germans lost an arm and died, but he was buried with the arm of a carpenter. John's earthly suffering continues after his death ... John's unfortunate ghost can not accept this error, indeed he is a tailor! and Mary, his beloved, can not recognize him with the arm of another ...
