The main character of the film, Zoya, lives in a provincial town far from Moscow. She is 25 years old, she doesn't take care of herself and dresses old-fashioned. Her dream is to sing on a big stage, but so far she has to be content with only benefit performances behind the counter of a store where a few customers act as listeners and fans.
