Futami is a 17-year-old high school girl. Her father was killed in the war, her mother is hospitalized due to illness, and she lives with her senile grandmother. As she spends her adolescence surrounded by this "great sadness," her friend runs away from home and comes to live with her. This is the first film of the "16mm Film Production Support Project" (now PFF Scholarship) which started in 1984.
