Op een dag vindt een kleine jongen een pinguïn op zijn stoep. De jongen weet niet goed wat aan te vangen met het verdwaalde diertje. Omdat niemand hem lijkt te missen besluit hij de pinguïn dan maar met zijn roeiboot terug te brengen naar de Zuidpool. De reis belooft een beproeving te worden.
