"I'm thinking of not going to college. There are no real teachers there, after all." Yusuke Takashima stares intently into the eyes of his teacher, Mari Suzuki, in the career guidance office. That same night, Mari breaks things off with her lover, Otsuki. After leaving Mari's apartment, Otsuki heads to a love hotel with Harumi, a high school girl he met through a telephone dating service. Harumi happens to be one of Mari's students—and she is in love with Yusuke. When Yusuke presses her, insisting, "Even a kid can handle sex," Mari taunts him: "Can you do what *he* does? Can you make me feel the same way? Can you make me forget him?" Their lives become inextricably tangled as student and teacher—entwined in body and soul, hurting one another—search for the meaning of true love.
