After spending 40 years in a psychiatric hospital he shouldn't have been in, 59-year-old Taro finds himself thrust into modern Tokyo. With the help of a young welfare officer, he begins pursuing a list of long-forgotten dreams, from swimming in the ocean to appearing in a period drama. But when a journalist investigates his mysterious lost decades, Taro must confront his past while discovering how to live again.
