The original interpretation of the Baron, brilliantly portrayed by People's Artist of the USSR Georgy Menglet, was widely praised by theater critics and the press. For this role, Georgy Menglet received the "Russia's First Love" award in the category "For Fidelity to Pushkin's Words."
