After a few years of absence, Sandro returns to his homeland, the post-Soviet Republic of Georgia, hoping to reconnect with his lover, Tina, only to discover that she has been killed in a political protest. He is the only person left to take care of her burial. While organizing the funeral, Sandro tries to reconnect with his identity and his country, only to witness the drowning of his expectations and discover how difficult it is to become who you are.
