The film deals with the curse of mahjong on the couple played by Ng Cho-fan and Tong Suet-hing. When Tong learns how to play mahjong, she is hooked onto the game, playing day and night and neglecting her husband and family duties. Eventually, Tong builds up a mountain of debt and has to prostitute herself. A happy family is thus broken up.
