The story of the rich Lothar von Hansen, who returns home from a big meeting with friends. On the way, on the steps of the church, he meets a beggar with his daughter. A young woman named Priska is very pretty. Lothar's taking her home. In a woman, the plan to use Lothar's wealth for herself and her daughter is maturing. Priska's gratitude quickly weakens and the woman makes contact with Lothar's best friend, Baron Axel.
