Mirror of Nightingales
DirectorKarla Lulić
“A story about Dora, a professional mourner. She is the best mourner in the village, and when she cries, even the dead weep.”
Dora, a professional mourner and hairdresser in a small Croatian village, accidentally mourns at the wrong person's grave, calling her reputation into question and sending her into a wave of bancruptcy and stigmatization by the locals. One day an immortal man named Dunda asks her to mourn on his pretend funeral. Their meeting will grant them what each of them dreams of the most. For Dora, it's the wish to live life to her fullest once again. For Dunda, it's the chance to finally embrace the feel of death.
