The story starts on his arrival in Singapore and reaches a climax when he makes his first call home. Han Yew Kwang: 'I have always been fascinated, or even felt threatened by the power of environment factors. No matter how hard a man tries to remain his old self, he subconsciously changes to adapt to a new environment each time.'
