Everyone has problems with their parents now and then, but fourteen year old Jaiden Beales family is a corporation. When he was a baby, his biological parents were killed by a faulty gas valve manufactured by NECorp. To avoid a lawsuit, the company adopted him. Now his bedroom is an office suite just down the hall from public relations, complete with a killer flatscreen TV, a top of the range computer, masses of video games and his own bathroom. But what Jaiden has ever really wanted is to live in a regular house, have a girlfriend, fit in at school and lead a normal life. Is that too much to ask? Yes, when all aspects of your life are regulated by a group of managers and committees known as Team Jaiden. To make matters worse, as Jaiden starts to rebel against his parent corporation, he uncovers some scandalous truths about NECorp. Now he must decide whether to stay loyal to the only family he has ever known or side with his new friends and take the company down.
